Asia’s wealth management landscape is undergoing a seismic shift, with an estimated US$5.8 trillion of wealth expected to change hands amongst Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) and High Net Worth (HNW) families by 2030. Family offices are evolving from traditional wealth managers into sophisticated institutions, tasked with strategic asset allocation, legacy planning, and driving societal impact. Hong Kong, as a global financial hub, is stepping up with new incentives and reforms to attract family offices, but success requires more than policies — it demands innovative solutions, institutional-grade governance, and strategies tailored to the unique challenges of intergenerational wealth.
Redefining Hong Kong – Next Generation Wealth is a focused, high-impact event that will bring together family office leaders, next-gen successors and wealth management professionals to explore the future of family offices. Through expert-led panels and actionable insights on governance, leadership transitions, and innovative investment strategies, participants will leave equipped with new ways to navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities they encounter in the coming decades.

CUHK Centre for Family Business was invited as the Knowledge Partner of this year’s RTH series, hosted by South China Morning Post. Building upon the success of its inaugural family office event in 2022, we are delighted to announce the renewal of the Family Office edition, aiming to provide valuable insights and foster engaging discussion on the ever-evolving landscape for family offices and family businesses in Hong Kong.
With a laser focus on topics critical to the Hong Kong, including attracting single family offices, striking a balance between legacy and innovation, and reevaluating real estate investments, the half-day event will serve as a pivotal platform for continued conversations in the wake of the Hong Kong government’s proactive efforts to position the city as a leading hub for family offices and philanthropies.
Representing CUHK, Prof. Kevin Au and Prof. Marshall Jen will share their insights of the ecosystem that makes the family office space unique in Hong Kong and discuss the challenges NxGen face in striking a balance between preserving the family legacy and embracing new purposes that align with
the needs of the current world, as well as the purpose and role of philanthropy in modern
day Asia.
